The following information about Bio-Energetic Endocrinology is provided as helpful background information.
This is a newly developed integration of Biochemistry and Energetic diagnosis and treatment. It is the integration of Chinese Medicine (herbs and Acupuncture), Homeopathy, Nutritional Supplements and life style adjustments.
The focus is the Endocrine system – the system of glands and hormones that are the biochemical nervous system of the body. The endocrine glands are also major energetic centers and focal points, as well as Chakra energetic locations.
This approach differs from Western Medical Endocrinology. I paraphrase Dicken Weatherby: Medicine and Health care are undergoing a paradigm shift. We are seeing more demand from patients to look at their complex cases from a holistic approach rather than a mechanistic or reductionist perspective. In order to do this, we need to have diagnostic methods that focus on physiologic function as a marker of health, rather than merely the presence of pathology or tissue change as a marker of disease.
The following lists the differences between a reductionist, pathological view of the body and the view of the body as functioning bio-energetic physiology:
PATHOLOGICAL VIEW |
BIO-ENERGETIC VIEW |
The body is viewed as a machine, composed of separate systems, reduced into its constituent parts. |
The body is viewed as a dynamic and complex interconnected system of mind, body, emotions and spirit. |
Emphasis is placed on the identification of disease or pathological tissue change. |
Emphasis is placed on identification of areas of imbalance or dysfunction of normal physiology. |
Diagnosis is extremely specialized. |
Diagnosis integrates data from many different systems and methods. |
Treatment is based on reducing symptom. |
Treatment addresses the underlying causes of dysfunction. |
Relies on late stage development of disease as a marker. |
Allows for early prediction of dysfunction. |
Health is measured as an absence of disease. As long as you do not have a disease, you are considered healthy. |
Health is measured along a wellness continuum, which is a spectrum moving from disease to health. |
